trailer: Banderas engages in some Acts of Vengeance

The “Old Man Action” genre is a staple in action films dating back to Charles Bronson in his heydey up to Liam Neeson and his daughter getting kidnapped countless times. Wouldn’t be surprised if Taken 4 turned into a courtroom drama about his daughter wanting to get emancipated from her dad and the Neeson goes after the system and her for being legally “taken” from him. Ya never know.

So Antonio Banderas has added an entry to the genre and the trailer just hit the streets today. Acts of Vengeance tells the familiar tale of a man’s wife and daughter get killed and he gets in his car and exacts revenge. Not much to it, just something to get entertained by.

Directed by Isaac Florentine, the director who made the Ninja movies with Scott Adkins, so we can expect a lot of action with a  lot of clarity, since Florentine loves letting action scenes breathe.

So here’s hoping this entry is actually good and maybe we’ll get Banderas in another Mariachi adventure!
