After his departure from KILL SWITCH ENGAGED Howard Jones is back with a new band Devil You Know. The Band featuring ALL SHALL PERISH’s guitarist Francesco Artusato, ex-FEAR FACTORY drummer John Sankey and bass player ex-BLEEDING THROUGH Ryan Wombacher have released their debut album “The Beauty Of Destruction” and it is quite the statement
Having made their live debut at this years Soundwave Festival here in Australia they have really already won metal fans over and really set the bar high for what the album should be.
First of all I want to say that clearly its going to be compared to Jones previous band KSE and I think that its far superior to anything that KSE have ever put out. I never ever a fan of KSE and I could never get into anything they put out regardless of who the front man was but I really enjoy this album.
It’s almost like this album is what KSE could have been. Its much heavier, much more melodic in spots and technically superior to anything KSE have ever put out and really sets the standard really high for what we can expect from Devil You Know in the future
Stand out tracks on this album include the opening track “A New Beginning” which really shows how heavy this album is going to be when this how it sounds out the gate, “Embracing The Torture” which again is a really heavy and hard hitting track with Jones really barking out the words and the drumming hammering in your skull, the lead single from the album “Seven Years Alone” and the melodic “It’s Over” where Jones shows of his soulful side and the rest of the band really get a chance to shine technically.
The whole album is fantastic from start to finish and really shows what KSE could have been if they were prepared to take things to the next level. This album is a must own for all KSE fans because from now on this will be the band to take your main attention. And if you were never a KSE fan like myself still pick this one up because I have a feeling you will be pleasantly surprised.
