Michael Madsen was a tough guy staple back in the 90’s. He could make drinking a soda from a to go cup look cool as fuck, but he also had that “don’t fuck with me, I won’t fuck with you attitude.”
Having been made famous by Quentin Tarantino in Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill, Madsen went on to make other movies that put him in the same mold except for Free Willy, but hey sometimes you gotta do things to pay the rent, and lately he hasn’t been in as much as he used to. Leave it to Robert Rodriguez and his El Rey Channel to bring back Michael Madsen.
Rodriguez has developed an animated show called Explosion Jones that puts Madsen in that Rambo/Schwarzenegger type of role and surrounded him with the voice talents of Carl Weathers, Danny Trejo and Vivica A. Fox. We can only guess what type of action adventures Jones is gonna go through, kinda like Archer. So here’s hoping Madsen catches a comeback with this show!
