If you’re obsessed with all things mega-monster, then you have to treat yourself to Netflix’s newest upcoming anime Godzilla: Monster Planet. Thankfully, not much is given away in the official trailer released earlier today, but we can derive that there’s going to be a lot of action, a lot of tension, and a badass/chill-inducing Godzilla. (There’s a seriously jaw-dropping quick glimpse of what he’ll look like at the very end of the trailer.)
What we do know is that the anime movie is set in the future, in a world of kaijus running around and destroying everything, and a chosen group of people are given the task of exploring other habitable planets, but it turns out there’s nowhere else for the human race to go so they’ll have to somehow defeat Godzilla and reclaim Earth.
For them, this is very bad. For us, this is a dream come true.
Netflix is a serious competitor when it comes to their collection of anime and I can safely say that this movie will give them a serious leg-up in the animated action genre, especially for future kaiju animated films.
Godzilla: Monster Planet is set to hit Netflix November 17.
