New York thrash legends Overkill strike back with their 17th studio album “White Devil Armory”.

Tying with Exodus and Testament for the 5th slot underneath the rest of the big four for one of the most ground breaking thrash acts of all time. Overkill with their last album “The Electric Age” have been going through a bit of a resurgence and “White Devil Armory” is no exception.

They keep the momentum going strong here and continue to bring the thrash hard and fast. Front man Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth’s voice is just as strong as ever and even though he suffered a stroke on stage in 2002 he has never slowed down. Musically this album is a fast and raw as ever.

The lead single from the album “Armorist” really sets the tone for the entire album. Its pure classic thrash from start to finish and it never really relents

Stand out tracks include “PIG”, the second single “Bitter Pill” and the heavy “King Of The Rat Bastards”

If you’re an old school thrash fan, a new school thrash fan or just a fan of great classic metal than you need to own this album

Overkill is a band that needs a much higher profile in todays very thrash based metal society. They along with Testament, Exodus, Suicidal Tendencies and a Teutonic Big Four of thrash (Destruction, Tankard, Kreator and Sodom) all need to be mentioned on the same sentence as the big four. They were just as big as important in the beginning as all those bands and compared to a lot of them they are putting out a lot better material today than a fair chunk of those bands listed.
