Desecrator are a Melbourne based thrash metal band formed in 1998. Having released an E.P. and a live album the band have now released a second 4 track E.P. titled “Down To Hell”.

Having proven their worth as a thrash band by supporting the likes Tankard, Forbidden, Mortal Sin, Toxic Holocaust and King Parrot to name a few and having a awesome live stage presence really tapping into the old school bay area thrash feel and live presence as they are they are their to thrash as had as they possible and kick the asses of those in the pit. They also do a fantastic live version of the Diamond Head classic “Am I Evil?” which is probably best known as a Metallica cover.

The E.P. “Down To Hell” is four tracks of pure thrash fury. Opening up with the blazing title track “Down To Hell” front man Riley Strong’s voice comes across almost like a cross between black album Hetfield with the late Orderus Urungus. The next track “Rise and Fight” is really punchy with a super quick riff, really taping into the speed side of thrash making the most of the bands twin guitar sound. Followed by the slower paced “Brothers in Arms” and closing with the kick ass “Balancing on a Blade”.

“Down To Hell” is a great example of old school thrash done well in a modern way without being super retro like a lot of newer thrash bands are and if you can see them live do it they put on an amazing show.

This EP is for lovers of late 80s/early 90s metal when thrash was king, the big 4 had begun world conquest and the second wave of thrash bands were emerging.
