EvilutionE5150 Album Review: VANISHING POINT – “DISTANT IS THE SUN”

Formed in the early 90s and releasing albums since 97 Vanishing Point has earned a massive following from supporting the likes of Black Label Society, Yngwie Malmsteen, Iron Maiden, Joe Satriani, Nighwish, Sonata Arctica, DragonForce and even touring Europe and playing the much celebrated Wacken Open Air Festival

This new album is shows the band technical prowess and skill have only grown to new heights on this album showing a bigger leaning toward a more progressive sound

The album kicks off with the intro track “Beyond Redemption” which then leads into one of the best tracks on the album “King Of Empty Promises” which shows thundering riffage and amazing vocals. The vocal harmonisation across the entire album is brilliant, vocalist Silvio Massaro shows amazing range. The twin guitar work is also fantastic with the interplay between the two guitarist showing fantastic skill and the ability to work off each other seamlessly

Other stand out track on the album include the title track “Distant Is The Sun”, “When Truth Lies” which is the lead single of the album and the band has made a music video to support and the blisteringly heavy “Pillars Of Sand”

The band is currently touring Australia and New Zealand to support the album and if they come your way they are definitely a band not to be missed

This album is a must for all fans of Power Metal, Progressive Metal and Traditional Heavy Metal.
