EvilutionE5150 Album Review: TOXIC HOLOCAUST – “CHEMISTRY OF CONSCIOUSNESS”

Joel Grind and co. are back with their patented brand of blackened Thrash metal with a little bit of hardcore thrown in just for fun.

The new album titled “Chemistry of Consciousness” brings you more of their sound that they are so fucking bad ass at supplying. It’s like they we’re the dirtiest 80s crossover thrash act that was only 25 years too late

On this album Joel’s voice hits new raspy notes and the riffs are so heavy and dirty they sound like a bar fight between Motorhead, Venom, Kreator, Discharge and KEA era Metallica.

The whole album comes across production wise like an early thrash demo tape which is guess is the sound they were aiming for.

The songs are over so quickly due to the lightning fast riffs and the whole album clocks in at a run time of only 28 minutes, much like Slayers “Reign in Blood” (coincidence?)

Stand out tracks on are the lead single “Acid Fuzz”, intro track “Awaken the Serpent” and “Out of the Fire”

Also if you get the version with the bonus track it’s a pretty thrashtastic cover of L7’s “Wargasm”

Definitely all true thrash metal fans will wanna pick this up

Toxic Holocaust will be here in April 2014 with Skeletonwitch. “Chemistry of Consciousness” is available now
