EvilutionE5150 Album Review: BRONSON – “BLOOD BROTHERS”

Bronson have really made a name for themselves on the local scene in the last few years really pushing the boundaries of what’s expect of a metalcore act wining new fans with each live show.

Having had the honour of seeing these guys a few times I was most impressed with what they were able to do on stage in with their limited set time as each time they were the support act for an international headlining band.

With “Blood Brothers” they’ve managed to take that live vibe and feel and get down on an album and this shit is heavy straight out the gate.

Intro track brings in the pounding rhythms which get this album of to a great start slamming straight into “Fight to Right” which brings with it the heavy punching riffs that felt throughout the entire album.  The solos are fantastic and never feel out of place on any of the tracks and Vocalist Jay screams throughout the entire album like a man possessed.

Stand out tracks are the lead single “Weapons of Mass Destruction”, “Claim the Throne” and title track “Blood Brothers”

Additionally female vocalist Kimberly Ward’s guest appearance on the tracks “The Dispossessed” and the title track “Blood Brothers” adds a nice change and juxtaposition to Jays barking. I’ve seen other reviews kinda look down on this but I think it works really well, especially when layered over Jays vocals.

I cannot recommend this album enough. Their sound is very much like they’ve taken the heaviness of Killswitch, Chimaira, Hatebreed and the soul and groove of Pantera and thrown it all into a blender. The results are heavy as fuck but with a crushing groove that fans of any of the mentioned bands will be able to enjoy.
