November 20th Album Releases

Heyy there, it’s been awhile, FAN. How ya been? Good? Great!

This week, and potentially every week, I’ll be scaling my previews back from 5 to 3. I think it’s best for all parties involved.

So here we go!

Bad Brains – Into the Future
Hardcore punk band Bad Brains is back with new music, and this album in particular is noteworthy in itself, for it’s being dedicated to Adam Yauch, aka MCA of the Beastie Boys, who passed away this past May. MCA helped the band on their last album, producing 2007’s Build a Nation. Into the Future was produced by bassist Darryl Jenifer this time around. The band that can certainly be credited with starting the hardcore punk movement shows off why they are the forefathers with Into the Future.

Kid Rock – Rebel Soul
Kid Rock! The man’s been noted as saying that his new stuff will NOT be country, so we could possibly be hearing stuff like “So Hott” from 2007, or his cover of “Feel Like Makin’ Love” from 2003, which I am for sure excited for. First single is titled “Let’s Ride” and is dedicated to the troops fighting for our freedom. It kind of has a classic rock vibe to it, which does not hurt one bit. With other songs titled “Cocaine and Gin,” “God Save Rock and Roll,” and “Catt Boogie,” I think it’s clear to see what kind of record this will be.

Rihanna – Unapologetic
What an artsy cover. This will be the 5th album Rihanna’s put out since 2007. You gotta respect that effort. Personally, I’m hoping there are more songs like “Rude Boy” and “S & M.” Rihanna’s really good at putting out raunchy tunes. Lead single, “Diamonds,” is all over the radio, as are most Rihanna songs, and with good reason. You can totally expect more goodness from the star of this year’s Battleship.
