Justifying Evil!: CM Punk costs Randy Orton the WWE Championship

Today we will be taking a look back at last years Royal Rumble pay-per-view when CM Punk cost Randy Orton the WWE Championship as well as the events that led up to it.

Before we take a look back at the 2011 Royal Rumble we will have go to back in time three years to Unforgiven 2008. At Unforgiven 2008 CM Punk was set to defend the World Heavyweight Championship in a Scramble match that night.

However, Randy Orton with some help from Legacy beat down Punk and Orton punted him in the head.

This made CM Punk unable to compete at that night and he had to forfiet his championship.

Three years later at the 2011 Royal Rumble Randy Orton took on The Miz for the WWE Championship. That night with some help from the New Nexus CM Punk cost Randy Orton the match as well as the title.

While the crowd did not approve of Punk’s actions that night, he was justified in doing so. He was getting even with Randy Orton for what he did to him three yeasr earlier. In fact he did the exact same thing, he used a distraction from his stable and cost Orton the belt.

Just because Orton was a good guy at the time does not mean that what he did to Punk at Unforgiven 2008 was fair or right. It was unjust and he knows it. Thus Punk merely did to Orton what he did to him and if Randy Orton thinks he was wronged, well he shouldn’t have cost Punk his championship.
