A soon-to-be Netflix treasure, A Futile and Stupid Gesture looks like a combination of biopic brilliance and an inappropriately hilarious inside-look at how the National Lampoon Magazine came to be in the 70’s throughout the 80’s.
We’re reeling over the cast-list already, which will star Domhnall Gleeson, Emmy Rossum, Seth Green and more comedy masters like Will Forte and Martin Mull (both actually playing the founder of the magazine, Doug Kenney). The upcoming Netflix original movie is fittingly directed by David Wain, as this has the nostalgic comedy style of Wet Hot American Summer.
