Synopsis: “In 2008, rookie journalist Jay Bahadur forms a half-baked plan to embed himself among the pirates of Somalia. He ultimately succeeds in providing the first close-up look into who these men are, how they live, and the forces that drive them.”
Most would recognize him from the strange, addictive show American Horror Story, but Evan Peters is a force not to be reckoned with in Hollywood. He’s proven that he can take on the unusual roles, and he totally kills it in this official trailer for The Pirates of Somalia with the help of some other big names like Al Pacino and Melanie Griffith.
From the looks of it, this film is going to have a heavy undertone, but gracefully blanketed with a little bit of humor and absurdity. Some may ask, however, is this a Captain Phillips sequel? Most likely not, but it just so happens that Barkhad Abdi (“I’m the captain now”) stars in this and the story takes place around the same time that hijacking took place. The movie promises to be interesting and just as memorable, nonetheless.
