Synopsis: “Two upper-class teenage girls in suburban Connecticut rekindle their unlikely friendship after years of growing apart. Together, they hatch a plan to solve both of their problems-no matter what the cost.”
Both Anya Taylor Joy and Olivia Cooke look really creepy in this trailer. They’ve got that dead-eyed, sociopathic look down to a tee. Joy has had a string of strong recent performances (The VVitch, Morgan, Split) so her take on this one will be especially interesting. Also, this is the last film of Anton Yelchin so … yeah, that guy was a gem so we’re all looking forward to seeing his final performance.
Overall, this kind of looks like American Psycho by way of Sophia Coppola (or Blumhouse Presents: a Wes Anderson film) – which isn’t the worst thing for a dark comedy – a bold choice for first time director Cory Finley as they are very hit and miss with audiences (but generally a hit with me).
