The motion poster for Wes Anderson’s Isle of Dogs has ZERO dogs.

Claymation/stop-motion is always a treat to see on the big screen and Wes Anderson + doggies seems like a home run. They released this motion poster to tease out the trailer that’s going to drop tomorrow and it looks pretty fun – hopefully the film will be too (especially after the antiseptic Grand Budapest). The only reservation one could have about this is that this appears to be Wes Anderson’s love letter to classic Japanese cinema and depending on how he handles it, he’s going to be teetering very dangerously into cultural appropriation. Hopefully it doesn’t go that way, but we’ll see more tomorrow. Until then, enjoy the motion poster…which apparently is a thing now. So, cooooool. Cool. Cool. Cool….
