New posters for The Foreigner – past and future collide!

The Foreigner looks to be Jackie Chan’s first attempt at a dark and gritty action film. Primarily known for his more up-beat and comically inclined martial arts flicks, pairing him with Pierce Bronson could prove for an interesting game of cat-and-mouse.

Synopsis: “Quan (Jackie Chan) is a humble London businessman whose long-buried past erupts in a revenge-fueled vendetta when his teenage daughter dies in a senseless act of politically motivated terrorism. His relentless search to find the terrorists leads to a cat-and-mouse conflict with a British government official Hennessy (Pierce Brosnan), whose own past may hold the clues to the identities of the elusive killers.”

This one is directed by Martin Campbell who despite having a fairly long career of solid action flicks (GoldenEye, Casino Royale) has been out of the director’s chair for the past six years after making 2011’s Green Lantern. Ryan Reynolds was able to come back from that one – maybe The Foreigner will be Campbell’s comeback movie?
