M. Night Shyamalan is one step closer to GLASS

In order to really enjoy M. Night Shyamalan’s Split to the fullest you have to go in with an open mind. Shyamalan is not your typical linear director, and that doesn’t seem to bother him much. Split felt a little more mainstream and watered down, but still had the “M. Night” touch of a dramatic thriller with a special twist at the end. This twist, however, may just redeem M. Night in a lot of people’s minds.

M. Night’s next installment, Glass, is going to be darker and will hopefully carry a more serious tone much like its counterpart, Unbreakable, in 2000. M. Night revealed in an end-credit scene that Glass takes place in the same universe as Unbreakable, which is going to be awesome and a huge relief to M. Night patrons.

He also tweeted that Glass is going to be left up to the characters to decide how the story goes — “going inside their head”, which is good news for us because that means that the sky is the limit in terms of the story. And, as Stephen King once said, the story is the best and most real when it is left up to the character to make the decisions. Think with your heart, M. Night.

All we know right now is that Glass will feature David Dunn (Bruce Willis) and The Beast (Split‘s lead actor James McAvoy)…battling? I don’t know how I feel about it, but it’s bound to be a bloody thrill.
