Harlott are a Melbourne based thrash metal act who released their first demo in titled “Virus” in 2010 followed by the 2012 E.P. “None” and have now released their first full length album “Origin”.

Harlott have taken the 80s thrash metal sound and turned it up a notch or 6 by making thins so much more heavy. Taking their cues from acts like Slayer, Testament, Kreator and Exodus but combining it with their own style of song writing and really showing off their technical musicianship Harlott are really taking it to the next level when it comes to standing out above the rest of the many thrash metal bands

The album kicks off with the fantastic Title track which really show cases from man Andy Hudson’s vocals. Raw and raspy echoing back to the likes of Paul Baloff and the twin guitar sound of Andy and Ryan Butler harkens back to that classic twin guitar bay area thrash metal sound combined with modern day technically proficiency that really gives them a really big crisp sound but still with blazing fast riffs

Other stand out tracks include the blistering fast “Export Life”, “Hierophobia” which features guttural vocals and high pitched King Diamond esque notes being hit as well, the slow and plodding “Regression” and “Virus” with its super fast riffs and fantastic solo

This album is a great example of modern thrash metal done right and is a must own for all thrashers young and old
