Voyager are a 5 piece Perth based Progressive Metal band formed in 1999. Having release 4 previous full length albums they have made quite the name for themselves locally and internationally by constant touring and playing event such as the Progpower festival USA and Progpower Europe and be receiving much critical acclaim. The band have now released their 5 album “V”

“V” is and amazing piece of technical brilliance a long with pop sensibilities especially with front man Danny Estrinn’s vocal style which Chino Moreno of the Deftones compared to that of Simon LeBon of all people

The band manage to demonstrate their technical abilities to the fullest combining keyboards with with heavy melodic guitars and really bridging the gap between Metal, Prog Rock and Pop music in a away that i’ve ever heard. It manages to be light and fun yet heavy and technical at the same time making it not only impossible to label but also making it be accessible to all music fans.

Stand out tracks include “Hyperventilating”, “Breaking Down”, “The Domination Game” and “Peacekeeper”. The only gripe I have with the album is that the track “The Morning Light” sounds way to similar to the Terminator theme but other than that all the tracks are fantastic

This album is a must for all Prog fans as well as fans of lighter metal in general

“V” is available now
