EvilutionE5150 Album Review: WITCHGRINDER – “THE DEMON CALLING”

Witchgrinder are a Melbourne 4 piece industrial metal act that take a lot of queues for the hay day of Industrial alternative rock of the late 80s and 90s. Using a lot of samples from classic Horror and sci fi movies they really set the tone similar to the likes of early Rob Zombie but they also have the heavy riffage and brutal vocals to set them apart.

After making some serious waves with releasing the single “Trioxin 2-4-5” and touring in support of the likes of Wednesday 13 and Ghost the band have released their debut full album “The Demon Calling”

The album kicks off with the intro and straight into the lead track “The Demon Calling” which is truly the stand out track on the whole album. Other great tracks are “Jack The Ripper” and “I Am Animal”

This album isn’t your standard sounding industrial rock album. There is such a hard metal edge to the whole album and each and every song and the samples work well and never seem out of place. They definitely have combined the horror/shock rock style with hard hitting in your face metal that never lets up.

If you like Rob Zombie or Murder Dolls/Wednesday 13 but want something a little heavier then you are definitely going to want to go out and grab this
